Violin

The magic of music and the violin became part of my world at the young age of seven. Classically trained, I was guided by renowned violin pedagogues Josien le Coultre, Hans Scheepers, Natalija Morozova, and Annechien van Blom. During these inspiring years, I joined the Haydn Youth Orchestra, was accepted into the Young Talent Program at the Prince Claus Conservatoire, and went on to perform and compete successfully at numerous national and international music festivals and competitions.

In addition to my musical training, I hold a Master's degree in Modern History. I previously combined my passions by working as a music marketing and publicity manager for the Leiden Theatre and Concert Hall.

In 2010, I relocated to beautiful South Africa. Establishing my private studio in Hout Bay and teaching at various schools and social projects around Cape Town, has allowed me to share my love for the violin with a vibrant community of students and musicians.

To me, the violin is a profound extension of who you are — serving as both a mirror to your inner world and the scaffolding that builds your character. Teaching the violin is a deeply rewarding artistic calling. You are passing down a living inheritance which is a human-to-human transmission that cannot be learned from a textbook — you are keeping a flame alive by using your own spark to light someone else's torch.
